5 Miracle plants to lighten skin naturally.

Posted on

Whether you’re looking for a way to fade age spots and freckles, or a way to whiten hands and body, there is definitely no shortage of herbs and superfoods in nature that will accomplish this, as natural remedies for lightening and whitening skin have existed for centuries. Over time, due to sun exposure, oxidative stress, skin irritation, and lack of nutrients, skin gradually turns dark due to the action of melanin. This process can be reversed if we provide our skin with the proper nutrients, both by eating a well balanced diet full of organic fresh fruit and vegetables, and by applying these nutrients topically.

Here are five Superfood ways to whiten your skin:

1. Rosehip oil is extracted from the seeds contained in the red berry-like fruits of the wild rose-bush. It increases the skin’s ability to produce new cells. As new cells replace old ones, pigmentation spots gradually lightens. As an added benefit, this accelerated cell regeneration reverses typical signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging, making the face firmer and younger looking. By the time we are 50, our skin produces 10 times less oil than at the age of 25, which leads to dehydration and wrinkling of the skin. Rosehip oil can restore the balance of fatty acids and water, which re-hydrates the skin.

2. Bearberry extract, which comes from the leaves of the bearberry plant, contains Alpha arbutus, which is known to lighten the skin fast. Arbutin lightens freckles, dark spots and skin discolourations, and contains sun protection filters, having an anti-aging effect.

3. Indian gooseberry is an herb found to contain powerful skin lightening properties due to its large amounts of vitamin C. The extract has antioxidant and antimicrobial properties which protect the skin against oxidative stress, effectively reducing wrinkles and suppressing the formation of dark pigmentation.

4. The skin beautifying benefits of Argan oil lie in its unique composition. It is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, carotenoids, ferulic acid, sterols and polyphenols. It also contains remarkably high levels of vitamin E and squalene. It does not clog pores and can be used for the hair and nails as well. Besides whitening the skin, it is a far more effective skin moisturizer than olive oil or shea butter, and helps maintain the proper pH balance of the skin.

5. Aloe Vera is well known for being highly beneficial to the skin, and is one of the most effective moisturizers in the world. Since it contains a natural compound called anthraquinone, it helps remove dead skin cells, leaving the skin brighter and whiter. It effectively regenerates skin tissue and fights inflammation.

Other skin whiteners include cocoa butter, lemon juice, honey, chamomile, coconut oil, the herb Lady’s Mantel, Greek yoghurt, horseradish, red onions, and basically anything that will nourish your skin. Remember, your skin breathes and absorbs anything you put on it. If you apply natural nourishing superfoods and herbal extracts on it, it will compensate you with a healthy glow.
